How We Got Started
My name is Ashley Oscarson, and I’m the proud owner of My Blessed Homestead! I have always loved to share my passion for baking, holistic health, homesteading, Jesus, DIY, and homeschooling my 4 littles.
My sourdough journey began when I was diagnosed with Hashimotos, which is a thyroid autoimmune disease. I have always loved bread, so when I was told I had to completely change my diet I was heartbroken! A sweet friend introduced me to sourdough and that began my journey of healing my body through what I ate. I quickly realized I can make just about anything with sourdough! Right then and there I became obsessed with all things sourdough. I, of course, had to share my new found passion!
My Blessed Homestead started with a simple pickup box on the corner of Pinewood and Cocolalla Loop, filled with freshly baked sourdough loaves for my neighbors to enjoy. As word spread, so did the demand, and I soon began making weekly deliveries to a pickup point in Hayden as well.
Today, My Blessed Homestead is more than just a home bakery. It’s a testament to the power of perseverance, the joy of sharing, and the blessings that come from following your heart. I’m incredibly grateful for the support of our community, and I’m honored to be able to share the simple goodness of sourdough bread with you
Why Sourdough?
